The day started before the waiting room filled, photographing the clinic's interiors while the light was clean and the rooms were still — reception, treatment spaces, the quiet detail of a place built around patient care. As the team arrived, the focus moved to the people: individual headshots relaxed enough to look like the person rather than the pose, and a full team photograph that took a little choreography and a lot of good humour. The afternoon brought a visit from local MP Heidi Alexander, and with it the task of documenting a live, unscripted moment — the tour, the conversations, the handshakes — without ever getting in the way of it. CHEC didn't need a stock-photo version of healthcare; they needed an honest record of a working clinic and the staff delivering NHS eyecare in Swindon, ready for press and comms the same week. That's what left with them — a tight edit of images they'd use, not a folder to wade through.
